Is It Safe To Do Exercises in Bed?

While it may be tempting to do your exercises in bed, doing exercises in bed can actually be more challenging and less safe than exercising on a mat on the floor. For this reason, we recommend most exercises be performed on a more stable surface like a non-slip mat on the floor.

If you do exercises in bed because you have trouble getting up and down from the floor, try this sequence to get up/down from the ground:

  1. Start by finding your strong
  2. Then kneel on the floor with your strong leg in front
  3. Place one hand on the floor or a nearby piece of stable furniture
  4. Slowly lower yourself down to a table top position
  5. From there, shift your weight to rest on one hip (whichever side feels most comfortable)
  6. Then slowly roll onto your back keeping your knees, hips and shoulders in the same plane

To get back up, simply reverse this process!
