General Health

Healthy and active aging begins with good general health. General health includes both physical and emotional factors. Maintaining good overall health includes addressing diet, exercise and lifestyle in order to optimize independence and function. It is important to have regular check ups with your doctor to review not just your musculoskeletal system but also your cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurological systems, as well as your hearing, balance and psychological wellbeing to ensure that no major health issues or conditions are being missed and limiting one's ability to stay active. If any one of these components of general health is lacking, it can impact one's health in negative ways that have both short and long term consequences.
