Heel-Toe Walk with Support

Equipment
Chair

Purpose

Heel-toe walking challenges your balance by narrowing your base of support.

Set up

Start by standing near a chair, countertop or wall so you have something to hold onto. Place one foot directly in front of the other, touching the heel of your front foot to the toes of your back foot.

Movement

Continue to walk forward by stepping one foot directly in front of the other, like you’re walking on a tightrope.

Tips

  • Use as much support as you need from the chair, countertop or wall.
  • As you feel more secure, try using less support for an increased challenge.
